Care Pastor John Abernethy and Chad Riopelle
Wildwood is For the Church Following Jesus together to the glory of God. The programming we do as a church family is designed to help each of us follow Christ in a deeper way. One of the programs that have to help fathers connect with their children as they help them follow Christ are our Father/Son and Father/Daughter campouts. In today’s episode we hear from Care Pastor John Abernethy (who oversees our campout ministry) and Wildwood member Chad Riopelle who share a story of how God has been at work through these events.

Natalie, Ann Marie, and Ciera
As we follow Jesus as a church, one important thing for us always to remember is the dependence we have upon Christ. One of the most tangible expressions of our dependence upon Him is through prayer. Prayer is an important part of our relationship with God and our life as a church here at Wildwood. On today’s episode of the podcast, we interview Natalie (a 7th grader) along with her Student Ministry Leader Ann Marie Hubbard and our Student Ministry Associate Ciera Morren to talk about how Natalie applied what she heard at the most recent “Rooted” Girls Ministry event by praying for her Volleyball team. Check it out!

Hanging out with John Carswell from Compassion International on today’s episode.
At Wildwood we are “For the Nations” following Jesus together with us to the glory of God. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) is truly GREAT, and requires us to work together with many partners as we live out it’s calling. One of the partnerships Wildwood has in world missions is Compassion International. Wildwood has helped fund a church plant in Lagoa de Sao Francisco, Brazil in partnership with Compassion, and Wildwood members have sponsored 200 children who live in this community! On today’s episode, I catch up with John Carswell who works with Compassion helping forge church partnerships.

Some of Wildwood’s Worship Team after practice one Wednesday night.
We believe that one of the ways that God grows our faith in Him and our love for others is through worship. Worship Pastor Greg Hill summarizes a definition of worship as, “Responding to all that God is with all that we are.” This includes so many aspects of our relationship with Him – including obedience, giving, etc. . . . but it certainly includes singing. At Wildwood, we are so blessed to have a worship team that devotes hours each week to lead us into worship together. On today’s episode, we get to hear from a number of the members of this worship team – including Pastor Greg Hill, Susan Storm, Adam Shockley, and Diane Nutt – about how worship plays a big role in their lives.

On today’s episode, we hear how two Wildwood members are experiencing life in the multi-generational church through the “Adopt-a-Sooner” program. To tell this story, we are joined by College Ministry Associate Naomi Reyes, and Wildwood members Laura Horstkoetter and Sarah Marcus.

Heather Beckham with Melanie Gladhill
One of the ways God grows our faith in Him and our love for others is through following Jesus into His Word. We strive to keep God’s Word central in all our ministries at Wildwood to people of all ages: adults, students, and children. On today’s episode, we hear how God is working to grow the faith of children at Wildwood through our Wednesday evening AWANA program and its Scripture memory and Bible study components. To tell this story, we are joined by Midweek Children’s Director Melanie Gladhill and one of our key volunteers, Heather Beckham.
Wildwood’s AWANA program starts a new year of ministry on September 11, 2019.

Chris Abernethy and Chanae Carter
One of the ways God grows our faith in Him and our love for others is through following Jesus on mission. By God’s grace, He chooses to use each of us to help fulfill His Great Commission and take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Wildwood is blessed to be in Norman, OK . . . a University town . . . and because of that, see a number of college students come through our church and go to the world. On today’s episode, we hear how God worked through Chris Abernethy and Chanae Carter on a recent mission trip to Kenya!
Wildwood has mission trips planned in 2019 to Mexico, Nicaragua, Latvia, and Brazil. For more information, contact Kevin Bradford in the church office – 405-329-3939, or via email at kevin@wildwoodchurch.org

Jen Cochell and Joyce Harwell
At Wildwood we we believe God wants to grow our faith in Him and our love for others. One of the ways in which we have seen God grow these things is through personal involvement in community. One of the ways many women at Wildwood (and in Norman) connect in community is through involvement in our women’s ministries (WOW – Women of Wildwood). One aspect of women’s ministry that is launching right now is Women’s Bible Studies (which meet on Wednesday nights and Thursday mornings during the school year). Today on the podcast, Joyce Harwell (longtime women’s Bible study leader) and Jen Cochell (Staff person working with women’s ministry) stop by to talk more about how God has used these groups in the past . . . and how you can get involved this fall!
