Hey everyone,

Well, tomorrow will be a big day.  We will celebrate our one week anniversary of being out of the hospital by welcoming Josh home from two weeks of fun at “Cousins Camp” (with my sister’s family) and with Grams and Po (my parents).  We can’t wait to see the little guy!

As we get ready for tomorrow, we have a couple of prayer requests and a praise.

First, the praise:  Kimberly had her throat scoped today at Dr. Buyten’s office, and everything looks great . . . no additional swelling in her airway, so she is cleared to have the trach taken out as soon as the transplant team is confident no further surgery is necessary.  Praise God!

Second, the prayer requests:  Kimberly has started to have some blood in her urine.  This started last night, stopped for a while today, but has come back again tonight.  This is not surprising (they told us it was a possibility), because she still has a stint in her ureter connecting her bladder to her new kidney.  During the period this stint is in, some bleeding is possible.  However, we are supposed to monitor this situation and alert the docs if it gets worse.  Thankfully, like every transplant patient at Integris, we have a 24 hour phone number we can call if we have any questions.  Also, thankfully, we all have a 24 hour connection to our Heavenly Father who we can talk to and ask to work to heal Kimberly’s body.  Please join us in praying for this to not turn into anything significant and to calm our hearts and minds.

Also, please join us in praying that everything goes well with Josh coming back home.  We long to see him again and are really looking forward to it!  However, we have to make sure that this active 5 year old does not bounce into mom in either her neck or abdomen while healing is still going on.  Please join us in praying that Josh will understand that he needs to be careful, but that we would also just have some sweet times as a family.

Thanks for joining us in praise and prayer!!!
