Read: Isaiah 9:6-7

When a friend or family member has a baby, oftentimes the proud parents will send out a birth announcement right after the birth to invite friends to join the celebration.  The birth announcement often includes a picture of the baby and relevant information about the new life that has begun (height, weight, birthday, parents, etc.).  700 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah delivered a “pre-birth” announcement concerning Jesus.  He foretold a prophetic picture of Jesus and described various aspects of the New Life He would deliver.

Question of the day:  What do you learn about Jesus and His life by reading Isaiah’s announcement?

NOTE:  Each day between now and Christmas, I will be posting these devotional thoughts concerning Advent to this blog.  The artwork for each day is a product of children from Wildwood Community Church‘s Children’s ministry.  You can also access these posts via the “wildwoodchildren” Instagram feed or Wildwood Community Church’s Facebook page.
