On Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Wildwood Community Church I preached a sermon based on 6:17-19. This message was part 1 of our new series, “Speak Plainly.” Below you will find questions related to the message for personal reflection or group discussion. You will also find audio and video of the message to listen to/watch, download, or share.
Sermon Questions:
- Pray
- Read Luke 6:17-19
- What are some of the things that draw large crowds today? Now imagine the world of the first century (without telephone, internet, television, etc.) Without the aid of these modern inventions, Jesus drew a crowd very quickly in His public ministry! What do you think drew people to Jesus?
- What has drawn you to Jesus today? Would you consider yourself part of the committed or part of the curious (and why do you answer the way you do)?
- How does seeing the character and His compassion for people in these verses inspire you to draw near to Him in your time of need?
- If the picture of Luke 6:17-19 is a “taste” of our forever feast with Him, what are you most looking forward to about heaven?
- Jesus immediately takes His Apostles into a situation where there are many who need help. This demonstrated that He desired their calling to not just be a place of honor, but also a place of service to others. Do you understand your place in God’s Kingdom as merely a reception of a blessing, or do you embrace the fact that Jesus has also blessed you with the opportunity to serve Him by caring for others? What does your service to others in Jesus’ name look like today?
- What stands out to you most from this message? Any particular takeaway?
